  1. No Sony player supports FLAC files either on the player or in Sonic Stage. I owned the Vaio Pocket at one point, and have also owned the HD3 and HD5. So you'd have to convert FLAC to WAV to then transcode to ATRAC in Sonic Stage.
  2. No ATRAC is fine *if* it supports gapless. Still to early to tell what this will support in terms of full features. I won't buy a flash version, but if it is gapless AND they make a HDD version ...
  3. It's the way SonicStage works. If your source is a WAV file, maybe, but if you're transcoding MP3 or something to ATRAC, no. I also wouldn't transcode lossy to lossy as you will lose fidelity.
  4. The Sony was never a drag and drop player. Neither is Apple. Most players aren't. The ones that do generally use, say, Windows Media, and that displeases others.
  5. How did you import the tracks? If you did it via CD, it should be gapless. If it came from files on your hard drive, it may not be.
  6. I think I may be on the verge of selling mine. I don't use it much any more. I even have the optional PDAir Leather case, and I bought the extended warranty from Sony which is I think transferrable. Mine also has the Overlay Brilliant screen protector on it (can only get it from Japan), and doesn't have a scratch. PM Me if interested.
  7. So what is the highest bitrate supported currently in the A3000? Without lossless I might as well stick to the Vaio Pocket.
  8. Has anyone tested getting ATRAC Advanced Lossless files working on a NW-A3000? Or is it like the other ATRAC players where you still need a 352 or less file on the player itself? If you have, what impact on battery life has it had?
  9. As nice as they may be, I don't see it replacing my Vaio Pocket. It would be nice to get a size comparison, though in a picture between the A3000 and the VP. The only thing I really don't like about the VP is its inability to completely power off. Also, did you happen to try the new software with the HD5 or a Vaio Pocket? Does it work, or are we older owners stuck with SS 3.2?
