  1. Ah ha, alright, the changes make sense, it just took a while to track them down. Now I'm just fiddling with Atrac3plus and Atrac3...trying to find the best combination of sound quality vs Space on the disc. It all seems terribly 'beginner", but like I said, I've been using that MZNE410 for the longest time and have just now (after numerous horrible flash mp3 player experiences...ipod, sansa..samsung) come back to good old minidisc. Only now everything has changed and I have to sift through all this knowledge to catch up as fast as I can. Thanks for the help guys. Also, what sound quality do you end up using for normal use (car, headphones...etc). Cheers.
  2. Hello, New to the forums, MD owner for 5 or so years. I've been using a MZNE410 (MD Player only) and it's been doing me fine. I just recently got a MZNHF800 (AM/FM radio, line in recording) HI-MD model and am very pleased. The one thing I do have to say is, that with the upgrade from the MD to the HIMD, I also had to upgrade my Sonicstage software. Now, in the old version I had, I could import tracks to my library and have sonicstage convert them to Atrac before I even had my MD player plugged into the computer. Version 3.4 seems not to have that option (I'm guessing I'm missing something). It's frustrating to have to waste battery power while sonicstage converts the files, and then transfers them to the player. The MZNHF800 is just before sony gave Mp3 support..so I know I still have to convert files to Atrac, which is no problem, I just don't want to have to do it while my MD is plugged in. So, to sum it up, is there a way that I can sit down and convert my music to atrac without having to have a MD player plugged in? Thanks for any replies. Cheers.
