  1. Thanks guys... I ended up ordering SP-TFB-2 after speaking to Chris at The Sound Professionals. Chris was very helpful. <<WOW! what a coincidence! UPS just delivered them! And that was some prompt order processing. Looking at the box but would like to finish this reply first before I check them out.>> I would just like to say that anyone researching mics should definitely attempt rigging their own as hinted to me above as well. It would be fun and way cost effective. There are some great posts on this forum on making your own. I ordered these assembled mainly because I wanted to make sure I'd have a good set with matched elements and because I am short of time for making a set. I will probably end up making some in the near future. The thing to remember is that the elements you purchase should have closely matched frequency response and sensitivity. You can buy the elements matched from Sound Professionals or others... Build your module or preamp too...Use matched resistors and caps...I'd stay away from electrolytics for caps...They tend to leak (pass DC current in high voltage applications to say the least) and should not be used in the signal path...Use polypropylenes...I'll probably get around to doing all of this in time and will try to post pictures, etc. Peace and all the best to all of you firefly
  2. Hello to everyone, This is my first post here and at that an SOS! I am trying to find a decent set of mics to use with my MZ-RH1. I apologize if I am asking a question that has previously been discussed. If so, please direct me to the link. I have noticed that there is wealth of knowledge on this forum. Unfortunately, I am under somewhat of a time constraint. Otherwise, I usually search the forum before asking for help. Anyway, I have just been given a chance to attend a couple of performances in Europe that I would like to record. I actually know the musicians and they don't mind me recording their work. This is a duo in a quiet audience type setting. I will probably be about 40-45 ft away from the stage. I was thinking in terms of a set of in ear mics but don’t quite know what the sensitivity or other specs should be. Could you guys help out with your recommendation or feedback for me where to look? Cost within reason is not an issue. Many thanks in advance, firefly
