  1. When I received my new MZ-RH1 I installed Sonicstage 4 and ripped a batch of CD's into SonicStage. Everything went well, until I decided to put a collection on Hi-MD. Most songs went OK, but a few reported 'Unable to transfer'. I did not manage to get these songs on Hi-MD, so I eventually grabbed the original CD and from that CD everything worked fine. So I ripped the CD again, and now it works. Very strange! Now I have come to the conclusion that about 20% of the CD's I ripped do not transfer, but deleting them first and ripping them again solved the problem. Note: it is direct conversionj from CD (wav) to ATRAC (256kb). There is one thing I noticed (or did not) during ripping: there were a few CD's where I did not hear the 'ripping finished' melody of SonicStage. Maybe I took out the CD too fast? I can experiment on that. But I keep finding it strange that I ripped a normal CD into ATRAC format, could play them but NOT transfer them. The only message was 'unable to transfer'... Anyone else has this problem experienced? If I find a solution I will report here.
  2. SB 2.0 works!!! The solution that evnetually made it work comes from the MS Knowledge Base, article 330135, which (a.o.) states: The AutoRun feature or the AutoPlay feature does not work when you insert a CD-ROM in the drive: "You have the Restrict CD-ROM access to locally logged on user only security option turned on." I followed the following steps: Verify that the Restrict CD-ROM access to locally logged on user only option is not turned on. a. Click Start, click Run, in the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK. b. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon c. In the right pane, under Data, if the value for allocatecdroms is 0, go to step 5. d. In the right pane, under Data, if the value for allocatecdroms is 1, right-click allocatecdroms, and then click Modify. e. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK. f. Quit Registry Editor. After a reboot suddenly AutoRun works again, AND SB 2.0 started working!!! Thanks Sony...
  3. I received my RH1 last week. In general I like it... I was VERY SURPRISED to see that I was able to upload a pre-recorded MD to my PC!! I expected that I would be able to upload my own recordings, but this is copyrighted music! I then assumed that conversion to WAV would be prohibited, but my mouth fell wide open then: I actuall managed to convert to WAV format as well! (I did this excercise on Classic Williams-Romance of the Guitar, SM89141) I do miss the click wheel of my MZ-R30 to walk through my songs, don't know how other people keep overview of their music when 20-30 CD's are stored on their RH1. I therefore ordered the RM-MC40ELK, even though it is bulky... I also think the OL display is a nice gimmick, but unusable at day in sunlight. And the included remote doesn't show record levels (so SONY: how do you use this think for field recording, or do you work at night only). So once again I hope the RM-MC40ELK will help me here (why not included it as standard remote?) What I like most is decent control over recording level. Now still waiting for someone to help me getting MD Simple Burner to work (because it doesn't recognize my CD).
  4. I had mine on order since begin of June (in the Netherlands) at a dealer (Videopartner), but expected delivery date shifted a few times. I finally decided to call Sony Netherlands directly and they said initial market introduction would start after september (...). I was very surprised and said that I had seen the RH1 at another dealer in May already. He would check a colleque and returned with the remark 'it may be possible that your dealer can request an RH1 at Sony and we will deliver'. I said 'So you have them available now?'. He answered 'That is not for sure, but your dealer could try...' Two days later I got a confirmation from my dealer that he received an RH1 and now I have it here!!! I guess I will never understand Sony...
  5. I do use Nero ImageDrive and have disabled it to test, also removed and reinstalled SB 2.0, but nothing changed. Btw: SonicStage correctly reports all drives, including those from the Nero ImageDrive. But SB shows no drives at all. Any other suggestions?
  6. I recently purchased the new MZ-RH1 (great!) and now I am stuck with a working SonicStage (I can rip CD's and write to MD as well), but the MD Simple Burner (2.0) just doesn't show any audio-CD in the list. It is even worse: I can't even select an audio drive letter (the drop down list is EMPTY). I run WindowsXP, SP2. I also have trouble in Autorunning an Audio-CD, maybe that's part of the problem, I don't know. Any help on this would be great! Btw: I noticed that the drive letter used in SonicStage can be found agian in the Registry, but there is no drive letter for Simple Burner (only an obscure DriveIndex, which has the value 12). Jan
