  1. I did a lot of tests and here comes the results: This is the french version of SS4 which crash when I connect the MD: The US version works! But... Yeah, Murphy is my friend, I know that... The japanese language is displayed as dots on the MD LCD Display I searched on the web and here to find any clue about that, I found some about lcd remote, which I don't have. I wonder if I must do another thread on the hi-md forum, since this time, it's hardware related and not anymore a SS4 software problem.
  2. well, back to start. I ran ccleaner and regclean, reinstall sonic stage 4 and I got the same: Run OK without apploc crash when I connect the MD I will test later on my desktop (I tried on my laptop so far) which is sonic stage free, and it may work.
  3. well, I think I've misdid something because it gets worse. I did a desinstallation of SS4, installed CCleaner, run a clean and then, install a fresh SS4. I've rebooted as it told me, and directly try a JP version. It crashs at starting. I've falled back to the french version (without apploc) and it crash the same way. In both case, MD is'nt connected. So, I've checked the registry and I've found out that the local is STILL japanese, which means ccleaner didn't clean the registry. So I'll desinstall SS4 one more time and try to force the registry cleaning by CCleaner. I'll edit this post when I'm done. Thanks again for the help Ishiyoshi
  4. Thanks I do have an USB hub but I don't use it in this case. I've just tried your tip, launching SS4, and then connect the MD... Well, it crashs without doing anything in SS. Just connect, and crash... Do you have an other idea?
  5. I found your Japanese SS4 howto quite useful, since SS don't want to import japanese titled CD. With the registry change and Apploc software, I can run SS and import my japanese MP3 onto SS. But when I select the destination (which is a HiMD NZ-NH600), I wait about 5 seconds and then... it crashs I've tried a reboot with no change. If I launch SS4 without AppLoc, I have ????? instead of kanji but I can select my HiMD as a destination. Is anyone have a clue to fix the crash? I've searched your forum but found nothing about such a crash (even about earlier versions) I use a Windows XP Home (French) SP2 full updated with a SS4 french 4.0.00.05080 Thanks in advance
