I'm fairly new to live recording. I have GreenMachine's "basic" microphones as well as his battery module. I also have some old Sharp MD recorder. It doesn't do much apart from playback and recording in Short-Play (MD-SP). I made a few recordings: Fun!Yeah! - local band in small venueDragonForce - Power metal band in reasonably large venueStiff Little Fingers - punk band in mid-size venueAll have come out with quite a bit of bass. I haven't had a chance to put SLF and DF on my PC yet so i only have Fun!Yeah! to give you an idea of what my recordings sound like. I can't really hear the bass when playing back on my PC through a pair of truly awful speakers, but when i listen with my Sennheiser HD 555s, it's all to obvious. If anyone has any suggestions to how i can reduce the bass (either during recording or afterwards on the computer..) then please do help me out Fun_Yeah____I_ll_Remap_Your_Network.mp3

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I recieved my Greenmachine mics and battery box (2 days from Germany to UK!!) The next concert i'm going to is in September, so i haven't had a chance to try out my new gear properly. In the mean time, I popped a punk CD in my hi-fi, cranked it up to full volume and recorded to MD via line in. The results look very promising! Thanks GM!!

Hello there. I'm new at these forums and new to the whole live recording. i mainly attend rock concerts in small/medium size venues. i'm looking for a high quality mic that'll get me nice recordings without sounding awful. I have mode one recording, but the vocals were far too loud for the poor Sony mic and it turned out pretty rough. i've heard a lot about Green machine and his mics, so got in touch with him. he recommended his battery module and mics. i am on a budget so if i got the battery module, i'd have to go with his 'standard' mic. i've also checked out Church-Audio's auctions on eBay. if i can nail a bid for $79.99 (and shipping of $39.99 to Europe) that'd be just within my budget. here's the auction: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STEREO-MICROPHONES-P...ShippingPayment what i really need to know is who's mics/battery's are going to be better for my recording? that church-audio package and the standard+battery module from Gm work out at the same price... if anyone has got sample recordings of each of these mics/battery's, that'd be really cool (but just your opinions would be greatly appreciated!) thanks guys

Hey, this card sounds pretty good. It'd make a nice upgrade to my damn awful Soundblaster! Done a bit of searching and haven't been able to find any UK suppliers. It's a shame .. $30 is a steal!

i just bought some blank MDs off eBay and a game called Battlefield 2 for my Playstation..

You run the Vista beta? How well is it running for you? i installed it on an old P3 800mhz 256mb ram machine and it didn't even work. Most likely a compatibility issue with the video card .. it's very temprimental.. Yeah, i think i might try a dual boot. If i can get this NotMD aplication working, then it'd all be great. If not, real time in Audacity it is!!

I was searching eBay for a cheap MD recorder and most of the descriptions lacked a lot of detail so I search the model numbers on Google. Minidisc.org was the first result in most cases. Found out loads of useful info and i've just started using the forums!

Just wondering which OS everybody is using. i'm currently on Windows XP, but i'm thinking of switching (or dual booting) Linux (Ubuntu) Only problem is that i doubt my MD is gonna be compatible with Linux .. i'll dig about.
