thanks for the replies guys. i tested it..and it lasted 33 hours on continuous play...although i did change tracks here and there and played ONE video. i turned the brightness to 3 and all the sound equalizer special effects off. i guess my battery is OK!

i just got my black A818 at sony style...and my very first time, the player ran out of battery the next day. iono why...maybe i left it on play? im not sure...so right now im testing how long the battery will last...to see if mine is defective. it started today at 4:30pm and now it is 10:50pm and one bar has been gone. so i have 2 questions: 1. how long does your batttery last, for those who have this player? 2. if IT is defective, will sony style give me a new one and take this one back? i bought it on November 30, 2007.

hey guys, so i just sold my s705 (pink, 2 gig) and got myself a A818 black. i have a question in transferring videos to it. i drag and dropped some...and one of two things happened: 1. a msg pops up on the computer saying that it is only using it for storage purpose and it cannot be replay. 2. it transferred no problem, but when i go to the video on A818, it saids no files on display. can someone help me out? im gussing its the format...but if it is, can someone tell me step by step on how to get videos working on my player? thanks

the Fm Tuner isn't too bad. its great out in the open, but when I get on the bus to get to campus the reception isn't that good. btw, i forgot to mention how i like this new player's interface a lot better. its so much easier to choose to just listen to a certain folder or artist..rather than my e507 where i have to go through mutiple menus. also ive noticed that this player lets me go BACK to previous songs even in SHUFFLE mode! my old one didnt let me do that.

alright guys, ive been using this player for one whole day today and im giving my review on it. btw, i had a E507 (1 gig) one, so you can see what i like about this one and my old one. anyways, here it goes. i love the look of it, and the glossiness of it. sound quality is EXCELLENT. honestly, maybe its due to the headphones but this sounds so much clearer than my e507. with noise cancelling turned off, the music is clear...with it turned on, the music is super clear. the NC really works! what i wish the s705 had are these: one button for FM tuner rather than going to the menu and selecting the FM tuner. the display button on the bottom should switch places with the playmode button on the back. wished that the cable to transfer songs was a universal one (For the E507, i used my samsung mp3 player cable, and it worked, since the outlets are the same size). i didnt like how the s705's headphones are so thick, especially when you connect the extension to the headphonese..its THICK. and the headphones are nice, but after a while, its gets semi-bothersome. my old E507 the back of it had a ENGRAVING of the word "WALKMAN"...while the s705 has it printed on..which in my opinon makes it look cheaper. i wished that sony included a carrying bag, or clip or neckstrap or something to carry this player rather than holding it. they should take out that cradle circle thing (which is useless unless you buy a cradle), and replace it with a carrying thing. also compare to my e507, this player is slower..not transfer speed, but turning on and loading up. it takes probably 1 second longer to start up....it doesnt seem a lot on paper, but its very noticable...im used to the E507's instant on. all in all this is a great little player. its a major plus with a color screen...although u cant really see the album arts very clearly since its so small...and you still cant see anything in direct sunlight...i wish sony made a remote for this. haha. overall i still like my old E507 better, but for sound quality, the s705 beats it hands down. its like comparing a bmw to a honda....s705 being the bmw. i give it a 8.5/10. *the pink color isnt too bad...im a guy, but the front doesnt look THAT pink...more like burgundy...but the back...now thats a different story...and no, im straight, not gay. hahaha. hope this helps guys. feel free to ask any questions.

ok here was the thing. i had a E507 before, and i was using it's sonicstage..the 4.0 one. i figure it was the same as the one that came with the s705. so i didnt install it. so apparantly the 4.1 makes a major difference! so this whole time i was doing the right thing from the beginning, but its just the wrong version of sonicstage! omg, im dumb. hahahha but i really appreciate the help shinji!!! i will let you guys know what i think of this player. btw: i got this off of woot.com for $49.99 USD. 2 gig, PINK. hahah.

urgh. ok its still isnt working on the album art. ive tried drag and drop, and doing what ppl were saying in the other thread. ALSO, when i turn on the player, it still says "simple mode". do you know how to turn it to advance mode on the player? thanks. and this picture issue is pissing me off. *and what is AVLS?

ok i just got my s705 (2 gig). REALLY QUICK QUESTIONS 1. what does it mean by "simple mode"? i turned it on and its says that...what are the other modes and how do i change it? what are the differences in mode? 2. MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION: i drag and drop pictures into the sonicstage albums, and it still doenst show up on my player! how do i make it show jackets? step by step please! i dont know much about this computer stuff. btw, im trying to input chinese music...so iono does it make a difference on the album art or not. thanks!!!

hey guys, so i just reformatted my computer, and i downloaded sonicstage again...and when i tried to transfer songs onto my E507, it won't let me...it says, i have to delete everything in my player for it to work. my questions are: 1. why does this happen? 2. Is there a way to make it work without deleting my songs? (this is for future reference since I already deleted my songs...) i would appreciate it if you guys can give me detail step by step instructions on how to save my music files on my player without deleting them along with being able to transfer music again....i suck with computer stuff. thanks guys.

ok guys so here it is... i was gonnna buy a a608...but sold out at most places in hk...so i decided 1 gig will do for me. i wanted the e507... currently compusa has it for 69.98..but its sold out everywhere...so i went to best buy today and told them to price match...they were dumb and didnt know they cant price match if the other store is outta stock..but they still did it. and i had a $20 giftcard for best buy...so total came out to be $52 for a brand new silver NW-E507 with fm tuner. good huh? so i have 4 questions now: 1. how do i make the player show chinese for the chinese songs 2. are there any accessories for it, like an armband that i can work out with in? without getting the player wet with sweat? ..if u do know, can you guys link me? 3. which sonicstage version (it came with 3.0) should i be having?..and can anybody let me know where to get the updated sonic stage 4. what should i do to prolong the battery...when i first got it i charged it fully...now should i use it till it discharges completely? thanks!

how long do the sales last at citicell? i already emailed someone in hk to help me check hte price, and if it is 980, im buying telling her to buy one.

oh yeah, if i get it from hong kong, will the 3 minute charging still work? and i know the charger will probably have a different set of "legs" than the american one...so i'll probably get one of those attachments to attach it to convert it to 2 "legs". will the E507 charger work for A608?

oh yeah, i just thought of something, i've noticed that the special winter edition one comes with a clear case for it...i was wondering do they sell that case or something similar to it by itself? as well as any armband sorta thing for gym usage? thanks man

the reason i want an a608 is because i heard it can display like 6 languages...and yes, im a fob and i like to listen to chinese music...and my samsung (i bought it at best buy) cannot display any chinese songs at all..pisses me off. but yeah, i know what u mean wiht atrac3. cuz i fit like 100 songs on my 256mb samsung..i use window media player to convert it to a smaller file then transfer them...but yeah, i hope its 2.0 on the a608. hhhaa, im currently asking my friend to check the price on it for me in hk! oh yeah, and i just wanted to say thanks to all you guys for responding to my questions and comments. nice to see a group of nice people on a useful forum...since forums are for people to help each other out anyways!

oh i see. thanks man. but the thing is, i really want an A608, because i think the battery life is better than the new "usb stick look alike" players from sony..and i want the 3 lines display. when i went to the sony store and tested out the new E003 (i think thats what it's called..the one with many different colors) the buttons felt all plasticky. im going to give the software a try, but no ideas where i can purchase an a608? btw, how old is the 608? 3 yrs old?

hey guys, i am a new member on here, and decided to ask you guys a couple of questions regarding my next mp3 player. i currently have a samsung yepp 256mb...waaay too small...so i decided to buy a bigger capacity one. i dont really like ipods or the other companies, and sony's 3 minute charge for 3 hours is really good. and i want a 2 gig flash rather than a 1 gig..so i was looking into a nw-a608. how is that player? from people who have it, is it good? reliable? i heard u can get sweat inside the screen..kinda annoying..since i work out at the gym a lot... and if i do decide to buy it, where can i purchase it? im from california, usa. and i even visit the sony store, and they dont have it..thanks for the info guys!!!!
