Thanks again. So there is not software solution to this. Unless I buy a new recorder, I cannot get my bird calls recorded with a microphone onto a computer, right? That is annoying to say the least.

Thanks Rich, So you can simply transfer recordings from the minidisc to a computer through sonic stage's transfer function, right? I tried this but I still got the message : "Unable to transfer the following tracks to My Library because they are recorded by Net MD or another computer." In the import settings of the advanced transfer settings I had specified that the files should be saved in WAV format, but apparently this still didn't work. Erik I am using N910. Does that mean that I am stuck with my recordings? Erik

I bought a MZ-N910 minidisk recorder in Singapore to record bird calls and I am now trying to get these unto my laptop. I was advised to use the wav converter tool, for which I had to update Sonic Stage 1.5 to a newer version. I uploaded Sonic Stage 4.0 and also the Wav Converter Tool, but when I try to start the converter tool it tells me that "You mush have sonic stage 2.1 of better installed to run this program. Install now?". Why does it not recognize the Sonic Stage 4.0 software which works fine, recognize the minidisk recorder and shows recorded tracks? Any suggestions would be very welcome.
