  1. Sorry, I didn't realise. That would be easier too, but I would like to get some use out of the hi-md because ive only had it a few months, but I did mainly get it for recording. I will get a proper player like the one you suggested one of these days though.
  2. Yes it would be easier! Which is why I use foobar and other programs for playing on the computer, good software that supports all formats. What I am talking about is wma the only/best lossless format that can be imported into sonicstage for conversion to attrac for playing on himd. I would not use sonicstage as a player on the computer, its just there to manage my hi md.
  3. Thanks for your help. I haven't been able to have gapless playback with any format from sonicstage to the hi md so I just havent woried about it, it is annoying though. I prefer flac personally and have all my CDs ripped as flac with detailed information in the tags and backed up to DVD disc. You can rip all the tracks to flac and still maintain gapless playback without making it just one file and using a cuesheet, its easier. I've converted the files to other lossless types aswell as ogg and its still gapless in the right audio players like foobar.
  4. To my knowledge the only lossless format sonicstage currently supports are lossless wma files. If I convert all my cds which are in ape or flac files into wma lossless and import the wma files into sonicstage and then put them over to the hi md unit, is the conversion lossless? or are the wma lossless files once imported into sonicstage not true lossless files? I know there is quality loss when they are converted to attrac format from lossless but what I would like to do is import all my CDs to sonicstage as lossless wma files and then have them converted to attrac format to play on the hi md. Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this. I would appreciate any help because I am not experienced with how sonictstage works.
  5. Thanks for your help. I ripped using EAC with all the right gap settings so they are exactly the same as the original tracks. That is why I would rather not have to rip again, but if its just for a few CDs I guess it would be ok.
  6. I ripped every one of my CDS a while ago to Monkeys Audio (ape) lossless format and they are on the hard drive so I don't want to rip the CDs to put on himd disc again. I know sonicstage doesn't support monkeys audio format (is there a way to do this?) Is there a lossless audio format I could convert to and then import them to sonicstage? If there isnt a lossless one, lossy, compressed audio formats would be ok aslong as they are gapless. I would really like to be able to listen to CDs without gaps, because some of my CDs have songs spanned over 2 tracks or 2 lossless files so its good without a gap. I would appreciate any help because I am new to minidisc and Hi-MD and sonicstage
