Can you use the remote from your 980? Some of the Sony's don't have the auto pause function in the set up, and some just have it in a hard to find place. Using a remote is your best bet.

I have two Sony minidisc units (the 330 and 520). A friend of mine used to use the MDS-JE480 and had a footswitch to start the tracks I'm now in a gigging band and the footswitch would make things so much smoother than messing about with remote controls in the dark. Does anyone know how to do this mod and if so, is it possible on my machines? Thanks, Amy
