  1. Hi everyone, After just losing power during a "system file write" on my minidisc and having months of recordings erased, I have decided to move away from the minidisc system. SonicStage and the ATRAC format is pain in the arse too, so I'm hoping for something a little more modern/sane. I do live recordings of many things, nature sounds, inner city sounds, live music, interviews, speeches etc. Does anyone here know of a solid state system that; Uses MP3/FLAC formatsAllows you to copy files through USB/windows explorerIs as good at recording as the MD systemRuns off regular AA batteries (preferable but not essential)Thanks!
  2. Great post, thank you. I think I will do the .oma files to DVD for back up as well just to be safe.
  3. Not too sure what you mean there.. the thing is I'll be carrying a laptop around with me, so I want to copy MDs onto it, and then post those MDs home (overseas) for safe keeping. I won't be home for at least another year or so, and say if my laptop was lost/stolen in that time, it would be a real shame if somehow those discs that copied onto the laptop were found to be unreadable on a desktop machine at home with SS. I'll have to see how it goes.
  4. Hi, I have a bunch of HiMD discs containing only recordings I made with microphone direct into my MZ-NHF800. I'm not 100% familiar with Sonic Stage, but I am wondering how many times I can import the discs to different installs of Sonic Stage on different computers? I want to be able to; * Copy recordings from the discs onto my laptop. * Post the discs home (I'm travelling at the moment). * Have those same discs imported onto a desktop computer with it's own separate install of Sonic Stage. Is this possible, or are there some kind of copy restrictions placed on a disc once it copies to a computer? Normally I wouldn't even consider this, but I know Sony can be extreme with their restrictions. Thanks, Dave.
