masao: First of all, I assume you are using WIN XP - my experience with MD software namely ends here. 1. I own the same MD. You can use it with Simple Burner and even with Sonic Stage, BUT BEWARE: BeatJam and SonicStage are not compatible pieces of software! An attemp to install BeatJam, deinstall it and install Sonic Stage messed up my machine completely every time I tried that. However, there are certain modules/drivers/some pieces of software in short that Simple Burner needs in order to function but weren't included in the installation files I have worked with. I made a new system-installation yesterday and since the MD software was causing me terrible headaches in the past I came to check whether any new sofwtare is available. I posted an extensive post about how to work around this problem a couple of hours ago but now I finally seem to have found an acceptable solution without having to spend two afternoons in front of the monitor and swearing Sharp. The link to the new 4.2 Sonic Stage on the forum site worked for me fine. I am using XP SP2, installed just the MD drivers first, then plugged-in the MD so that the installation was completed and then installed the whole Sonic Stage pack (couldn't exclude the Sony drivers that were causing me so much trouble in the past, though), including the Simple Burner, and - miracle - it works! From my previous experience with SS 2 and 3 I can tell that it is possible to have working installations of either SB and BJ or SB and SS at the same time. I have never managed to run SS and BJ at the same time, however. As mentioned before, I think that at least what Simple Burner needs to function properly is the OpenMG component. If you will stick to BeatJam and it won't work properly, I'd also like to make you aware of a SP1 issue - just take a look around the forum, there's a patch available. 2. I can't argue about this since I haven't tried it, but I seriously doubt that you can simply put a MD recorded with your Sharp into a RH1 Sony and transfer the contents via USB. Sony engineers are not that dumb, I guess. You can, however, use the optical line-out of your MD to transfer the contents to a computer in real time. Stand-alone components with recording capabilites that are equipped with an optical line-in have in many cases copy protection built-in so you will most likely be limited to a PC as the exporting target.
