  1. I was unable to post in any other way, please excuse me. I have converted several of my favorite audio books to .Mp3 format using Sony SoundForge software. A long, complex process I'll outline in case someone else wishes to do this as well. I will use my "Dark Tower" collection for example, all on cassette tapes. 1) I record from a decent (Nakamichi) cassette machine into my computer using Layla hardware and SoundForge (SF) software, saving each cassette side as a .Wav file. 2) Once I have all sides recorded, I dice these files up into 10 minute hunks using SF and save these to another directory in .Wav format. This can produce MANY files. 3) I run a "batch" file, processing these tracks with BBE for increased clarity. Also, I use "Normalize RMS" to even out levels. Some of these tapes were recorded as much as 15 years apart and so are not very consistent with each other. This processing tends to render all files in an acceptable way so that they sound "even". The next step in the batch is to save these modified files back to both .Wav and to .Mp3 format in seperate directories (I use batch mode a LOT). 4) To burn CDs, I use CD Architect and create disks with 7 ten minute segments on each. I also add a "header" that I record, naming the particular book "continued" and an ending that tells the listener to change to the next CD. Also, there is a "The End" segment I add to the last file of each story. 5) The .Mp3 are more difficult as to burn them to CD, they have to be named properly to maintain their proper order on disk. I use ZTree, an excellent file utility for this purpose and begin naming at "0000-NameOfBook" and continue in order through all the books until complete. For instance, there are 376 individual .Mp3's in just the first 4 books (of 7). Get just one file out of order and the story makes no sense at all. Which brings me to MY problem: I decided to xfer some of these works to my MZ-M100 MiniDisk. I thought that the import would be a breeze due to the file names of the .Mp3's already being sequential and in order but this is NOT the case. Even though the files have nice names, they do not import in proper order, forcing me to individually import each file. I have done the first 50 or so and this has led to me posting here in the hopes that someone has a better solution?? HOW can I import these files IN ORDER?? Thanks, DoctorSmith
