Stop bitching. You're being way to sensitive! We get it, you're the master... I don't understand what skiphunt is saying that makes you so irritated? Perhaps you should try to read posts without construe them as critique? -

Wouldn't it be friggin great if Sony released a RH1 that takes memory cards instead of MDs? I sure would like that. The RH1 looks so slim and cool, and the H2 looks like a shaver :-D -

How come the H2 unit makes noise? It's not like it has any moving parts, like a MD, right? -

Cheesez, talk about big demands. Don't you think this guy has better things to do than record all those things? Sure i've been asking for some samples to but perhaps you could have narrowed it down a bit? But hey, if you get what you ask for, i wouldn't mind -

Would be really great if you cold post a sample when you're just talking into the H2 microphones, perhaps talking with someone else aswell? I'm an amateur and hasn't got any real experience with voice recording so even though i appreciate your thoughts, perhaps your definition on what's acceptable is really different from mine? I guess i would also record environment sounds, maybe even at converts, so perhaps it's acceptable? -

I'm not really after something to record music with, instead i'm interested in recording speech / voices, like with interviews. Would the Zoom H2 be an alternative for me? Or is it just for music? I saw in the manual that it has a mode for "voice" recording, any thoughts on that? I guess i'm after something that has a mic which records just "straight forward" and not 360 degrees... -

I think it's up to 4Gb... So how is the build quality? Does it feel as cheap as the H4 or is it better? Is it easy to understand and control? Even during recording (like adjusting recording volume)? That soundclip sounds great! -
Hmm. Let's see if i understand this right: You can use the Sony NWS706 as a recorder? Since it records with "line in" does this mean you get the same quality as with RH1? Are there any other big differences between the Sony NWS706 and RH1 when it comes to recording sound? This thing looks really interesting!

Ok! I guess this is more of a technical question but is there some kind of limit on how many tracks you can make on a disc? I don't mean regarding data space (of course you can't transfer more data than 1 gb to a HI-MD) but can the minidisc really handle like let's say 1000 tracks or is that to much for it?
-
I just came up with a new questions and i guess it's best to just post it here instead of making yet another thread. When you transfer let's say 200 mp3-files from the computer on to a Hi-MD what happens with the disc then? Is 200 tracks created on to the disc (like really written on to the disc just like regular CDs) or are they just transfered on to the disc in antoher way (more like when you transfer to a memory card)? The reason i'm asking is because it's a pretty big difference between browsing through 200 mp3-files on an iPod (i think it goes pretty fast and you don't notice that the player makes any big performance when it's changing from one song to antoher) But with a MD (like my MZ-N707) you really can tell when the MD hs changing from one song to antoher, since it's a little delay just like when you're changing tracks on a CD. Is this the same when you have transfered mp3-files to a HI-MD or does it more resemble the iPod in that sense?

Okey, it's still great though that so many people visit the site! Probably a stupid question but what files do you host? Do you mean the sound archive?
-
Yeah, i saw that but there's no info about how many people log on like at least once a month, i figured that may be something the administrators know of. Oh well, great news anyway!
-
Great news! .... but i can't imagine that it's 50 000 active members? Perhaps there is 50 000 people that sometime in the history of minidisc.org has registered? How many users log in on a daily basis? (or perhaps once a month?)
