Hi all, sorry if this question has been more accurately answered in a post i could not find. I recently switched to a mac, and being an academic the functionality of high quality recordings uploaded to the computer is essential, which led me to selling my old NH900, and looking into the mac-compatible units, among which i understand the mac software works well for uploading original recordings. What i am NOT clear about, however, is whether indeed all of these units (RH1, M100 and M200) can equally DOWNLOAD songs (in mp3 format i read) to the minidisc. Other forums i found somewhat vague about this, what does it mean that they can be transfered to Hi-MDs that can play mp3s??? Does this imply that the songs can only be played from the device when the file functions as a data file when plugged in via usb to a computer, or that they can be played normally off of the minidisc player independent of the computer? If the latter, then i assume they are transferred as mp3 rather than what i was familiar with with my old RH900 which of course transferred the music, converting it into a format unique to the minidisc (which meant the possibility of compressing/downsizing the file to fit more music on the disc). Any further (more explicit and layman's terms) details about A. the functionality of the mac software 2.0 download feature, and B. whether this feature of the software will work equally the same for all of these mac compatible recorders. many thanks
