  1. no I havent dont anything with the phaser. I really dont know what to do with all the editing options at all. Also I cant find the place to set the manual settings on the recorder....
  2. ok, so Ive been toying around with my recordings, and Ive taken some advice from here. Was just wondering if anyone here would listen to one of the shows or just a song from it and give me some feedback on here or just a review and rating on archive so I can maybe have some suggestions of what to do next. I already know that I need to get a battery box to power my mic so I can plug into Line In vs Mic In (which money is keeping me from doing at the time) but other than that any suggestions? http://www.archive.org/details/GJ2007_03_07 ive only got the first set up, but I think its one of my crispest recordings. and the band freakin rocks....if you love the jam bands these guys are one to check out..... aside from that though.... what about the recording...... ESPECIALLY tips on what you might do with the EQ as Im completly new with that also: Sony ECM-MS957>Sony MZ-m100 > audacity > Flac thats what the deal is with what im using
  3. ok, so ive got some great recording of shows. however I really have no idea what Im doing when it comes to mixing and more importantly using the EQ. Im using audacity, can anyone point me in the right direction for tips and maybe a REALLY good faq on what im doing. basicaly I need to learn how to accentuate certain instruments with only one mic. Ive got clear recordings, just need to know what to do to make the bass come in better, a little less of the drums and shit like that...... need to know where to learn ive looked at another thread, and the mic seems to do with alot of responses. thats not what Im looking for though, ive got a great mic. the Sony ECM-MS957. which you can find here http://www.minidisco.com/Sony-ECM-MS957 so really I just need technical help
  4. Im pretty much a noob at all of this. Ive the MZ-M100 and a really nice mic. but as of now I am recording out of Mic In..... ive heard of battery boxes and what not, and not really sure where to start looking. someone also told me I could make my own. but either way. is that all I need to start recording out of line in? and where can I start looking for one? minidisco.com is where I got my stuff but they dont have anything on battery boxes.
  5. actually I only recovered one song, looks like there was more than one spot it had an error, just gotta find em and track em out.
  6. well it seems as if that has worked. I put track markers after each of the first 2 songs, and about halfway through the first song, it had an Access error, so looks like I recovered all but 1 song. thanks for the help
  7. Thanks Ill give that a try tomorrow and update
  8. Hi, new here. So for my birthday a few months ago, I got the Sony MZ-M100 mini disc recorder. and Ive been using the not so great mics that came with it. but for XMas I got an ausome mic. the Sony ECM-MS957. I had also been recording every show in a lower quality since Ionly had 1 1gig mini disc. I also got 3 more discs. so last night I gave my new stuff its test run on the first night of a new years run. So I transfered the 1st set. transfered the second set. then the 3rd disc gave me an error when trying to put it on my computer. What I think the problem is, was that when recording in the PCM mode, i only have an hour and 34 minutes to tape. where the first 2 sets were each an hour. this one was like 2 hours. and I did not attend to my disc till the show was over. when you stop recording it saves all your data. but I didnt stop it, it ran out of room. So is the problem that it didnt finalize itself? when I have the mini disc hooked up to the computer, I can listen to the whole hour and 34 minutes. just cant transfer it. Anything I can do? all help appreciated thanks
