  1. As there been no interest, I've moving the sales to ebay. So I'll be off now. Enjoy your MDs! Goodbye.
  2. Hi Mirka, Check your PM. Nick
  3. Hi Amanda, Check you PMs. Nick
  4. Hi all, Glad to see the MD forums are still going! It was fun whilst it lasted, but I haven't used my MD kit in years and therefore I'd thought I put it up for sale here for the enthusiasts, before going to ebay! Descriptions below and I'll get the pictures up soon. Honest offers welcomed. Conditions of sale: - Items sold as seen and described, thus no returns will be allowed. - Most of the kit has been inactive for several years now, so I cannot gaurantee the life left in the rechargeable batteries and the old portable recorders may have developed a few recording TOC errors. - Delivery will be calculated afterwards in case someone wants to buy multiple items. - The recording deck and hifi may be collected instead by arrangement. - Would prefer buyers within the UK, but not exclusive. - Items will be posted once funds are cleared. - Paypal preferred, cheques accepted. MZ-R50 (Blue) - Was ex-ebay purchase, so no original box and a few scratches, but otherwise still works and I'll throw in some earphones and an optical cable. MZ-E510 (Silver) - Shop bought with original box, still works. AA battey box lid clip broken. MZ-R91 (Silver) - Was my personal design favourite, no box, battery cover slightly bent (hence the tape), still works. MZ-RH1 (Black) - Complete in box, with ALL the manuals, in very good condition, still works and was bought to get all my MD recordings on PC. Included are 5x 1GB Hi-MDs. Will be amazed if it will all fit back in the box! MZ-E62 (Silver) - Complete in plain box, still works and was purchased as a part of a deal with the recording deck below. MDS-JE330 (Black) - Complete in box (not shown), still works, took pride of place on my hifi for several years. Will chuck in the cleaning disc and an optical lead as well. Box of Minidiscs - All my MDs I've collected over the years. Various storage boxes included. Will sell as a lot or seperately if people are after particular designs, for example I've got a 5 pack of Neige (translucent whites) in there. Will gladly take a few discs out and include them with the other items if buyer desires. Also if anyone is interested, there's my DHC-MD373 Hifi with some scratches and marks. The CD player skips badly (too many trips between university digs), but everything else is fine! Will include the better speaker cable in the original box. Seems a bit silly to keep it for use as a headphone amp, as there's the hifi downstairs now. PM me if your interested or have any enquiries. Cheers, noki55
  5. Will be selling his MD gear shortly...

  6. Hi all, I'm getting my RH1 tomorrow! Hoping to use it in the car so I can have hours of good music whilst driving. Of course as I don't want to be fiddling with small buttons, I'm thinking of building a 'BIG' version of the remote (RM-MC38EL). Has anyone done this already or at least has the resistances for the various button funtions? (Otherwise I'll have to do it myself). Of course this means I'll have to run the RH1 in 'headphone out' mode with all the volume up to make it loud enough (Why can't they provide seperate line out, like on the old R50 (got one )? Ta.
  7. Well rich1068, theres always time... Got the CD unit with aux in today. Now to order an RH1! I feel a spend coming on! A Hi-MD unit for specific car use can wait. P.S.: Geting my RH1 on Saturday!
  8. Thanks for the replies. I had a good search of the forum, but couldn't find any car audio related accessories. Should have mentioned that I recently graduated with an electronics degree, so aren't afraid to whip up a over-sized remote or something and being a 'poor' graduate I want to keep the cost minimal. As for the NH600, it was the lowest Hi-Md portable I could find... so if the portable for the car has to be a later model, thats fine.
  9. Back in the days of cassette tape walkmans and early mp3s, the fields were over there... I digress... I was starting at college (1998) and was fed up with the quality of cassette tapes and the non-linear searching. Also the fact that Winamp was deciding to literally splice mp3s itself (only after I got MD did I realise about 'write-protect' ). Anyway I wanted a decent portable music system and MD fitted the bill and have been enjoying it ever since.
  10. Greetings all, hope you had a good Xmas and New Year. This is first my post on this message board, but have been using MD since college. I've now amassed about 4 portables, one deck and one mini-hifi (did have an MZ-N1 but it died)! I've been 'umming' and 'arring' over getting an RH1 since last year and have decided to get one after my next pay cheque. Primarily so I can backup my old SP recordings. As an extra bonus, I know that there aren't any HI-MD car head units available at the moment. So was thinking of getting a cheap CD player deck with aux in and piping the music in from a HI-MD portable so I can get a couple of hours from one disc. (I've decided against an MD changer.) Of I course don't want an RH1 rattling round in the car, so what I want to ask is, if an MZ-EH1 is too expensive or unavilable... would a second gen HI-MD portable (e.g. Sony MZ-NH600D) be able to play HI-SP recordings made on the RH1 (3rd generation)? Thanks in advance. P.S.: I have emailed the question to the local Sony centre, but wanted another more seasoned opinion. P.P.S: Viva MD!
