I have several MiniDisc recorders. I have just aquired a Pass MD-Report professional cradle ( which holds the MD and offers various break-outs to inputs and outputs) I note that the power output to the Minidisc is 6volts (no load). This is the specified input voltage for the MZ-R50. However I also have an Mz-R3, which stipulates a 4.5V input. Would it be safe to use 6v here? I haven't measured the volts under load conditions.
