Thank's, but this is what i already did. I even ran diskwarrior. (but when i think of it, didn't re-install afterwards) . I'll have to wait a few days, because the player is back to it's owner, who i'm helping with this. Tanks for your advices en till later this week!

i used de usb port on the back off he imac and de md player starts charching, no sign of it in the program. Should i re-format de disc?

Ah, thank you, my test recordings were in hi-md. But still strange that the program can't reconize the player.

cant find the manual ffor the hi-md music transfer app anywhere anymore. And when i connect my mz-rh1 to my intel imac with 10.4.8 the hi-md music transfer app i doesn't see the minidisc. the programm says: device/media not connected. While it is by its usb cable. What am i missing here. (i'm totaly new with sony and minidsc)
