  1. I will take some pictures ASAP. By the way, it would be nice to remove the European volume limiter. If anyone knows how to do it or if it can be done please tell us.
  2. Here I am as I promised. I'll try to explain you my first impressions about my recently acquired NW-S205F player. First of all the package. Well, I can say the European version (mine) is cutier than the US version. I comes in a purple box instead of the transparent plastic one I've seen in other post. The contents are not the same, here in Europe get for more money a worse headset than in USA, the armband is uglier (for me) and the output power is limited, it doesn't sound loud. The device itself is lovely, it has a very simple interface and it's easy as well as confortable to use. You can perform the basic music operations like play, pause, control volume and change track and folder with one hand, even when it's in the armband and you're running (you only have to remember the buttons layout). Further control shall be made with both hands, mainly one to turn the gray part and the other to press disp and play buttons. I'd like to remark the ease of use of the interface, really cool. The display is very clear under artificial light or darkness, but not when directly hit by the sun, you can see almost nothing, believe me (big mistake). The text scrolls on the screen showing first the song title followed by the artist. If you want to check the album you only have to pull out the gray part to put the device in folder mode. I've not checked the behaviour for playlist, I don't use them. If you want to check more information about the current song or the running data you can switch different views with the disp button. You can flip the display in case you're left-handed or you just want it that way. The only input interface it has is a micro-USB connector on one tip, covered with a cap. It charges battery at the same time you're transfering music from the computer and it lasts more than enough for me. I've used MP3 File Manager software to transfer music unsuccessfully, SS detects the transfered tracks on the device but the device can't play them (unknown format), it's a shame. Well, that's all. Anybody can check specs on Sony's website or whereever, I only meant you to know my user impressions, I hope it helps. Bye!
  3. Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I'm away in ten minutes but tomorrow, as soon as possible, I'll write my first impressions about the device.
  4. Hi everybody, I just get a NW-S205F, you know, the sports dildo mp3 player. It's cute, I'm happy with it but because I've never got before an ATRAC device I have a question. The fact is I'm not sure if it supports ATRAC3+ codec because SS lets me choose among different ATRAC bitrates, some of them marked with ATRAC3 p.e. 66kbps(ATRAC3). The question is all other bitrates are for the ATRAC codec or for the ATRAC3+ but is omitted? If it's for the ATRAC codec, why such a new device doesn't support ATRAC3+ codec??? Besides that I have a limited european device, does anyone know how to unleash the full power of the device to sound louder? Any clues about where can I find a service manual? Thank you for your help!!!
