  1. I have already tried the SONY stereo mini condenser. I did not like the result as mu guitar sounded to THIN with it. I prefered the analogish and fat sound of my Shure SD565 (a model close to SM 58)
  2. Is it worth buyin those more complicated recorders like Zoom H4 or M-audio ? (they seem expensive around here) Or there is not such a big quality difference when we transfer to PC ? (My aim is to record my acoustic guitar and vocal performances at home with my Shure mic and burn them to a CD later with the PC) Those new machines also record different bits and have direct USB connections to transfer TO PC.
  3. There are many new recorders like Zoom H4 and M-Audio 27/14 but they are expensive around here+they seem complicated. I guess it is not worth to buy them just for a tiny quality difference? And they are additionally diff. to use+flashcards and SD cards are unpreferable to Minidiscs I think. Any ideas?
  4. I hate all the technological chaos that gets in my way. I decided to record my whole solo acoustic performace (singing as well) with my old NET MD then transfer it to PC via analog headphone output. Add some reverb on Cubase. Then write it to CD. And find an independent record company. So does it sound crazy ? I got a SHURE dynamic mic. It may sound kinda like Damien Rice recordings
  5. Another question : I have an 8 track recorder. But I hate all the complication that gets in my way. Does it sound crazy that I decided to record my whole album (10 songs or 11-12 songs) with my NET MD and transfer to my PC via analog cables and add some reverb then write it on CD or DVD. I will record with my SHUre dynamic mic. I will play acoustic guitar and singf. U can hear my official album at: http://www.myspace.com/edorsay
  6. If I use my MD's headphone out to the line in of my PC it records in real time. Do you think the sound quality would be too low compared to optical cable or not a noticable difference? http://www.myspace.com/edorsay
  7. I also need the answer. Can someone please explain me how to do this? I dont have an Hi MD, I got the same 707 model and I need a USB sound quality. (Or at least close to it)
  8. I have got a NET MD MZ N-707. The blue one. MDLP mode. I want to transfer my recorded sounds (it recorded in Atrac mode) to my PC. I know that only Hi MD's can do that right? BUT I managed to do it from the headphones out to the mic in or line in of my Pc in realtime. My Questions are : 1 - What is the sound quality difference between optical transfer and USB transfer? Is it just a time difference? 2 - If I use the headphones out of my MD goin to the optical in of my PC, would the sound quality be good as USB? 3 - My MD had an optical IN but no optical OUT, but still, is it possible to use my MD's optical IN, in order to transfer songs from my MD to my PC? 4 - Is it easy to transfer files from MD to PC with a Hi-MD machine? Without any software issues?
