The only way to relay my problem is to try and describe what is goin' on. I recently bought a used car that has an MD deck in it, don't remember the whole model #, but it ends in 5970, it's a SONY. And I have never encountered an MD deck before, so, I asked the guy if he would give me a few disc's to get me started...which he did. This car has at least two Amp's, one for the deck, and one for the sub-woofer, in the trunk. when playing the disc's that he gave me...they really ROCK the house (so to speak), I mean great volume and great bass. So, then I went and bought the home deck (SONY model MDS-JE480) to record some more for the car. Here's my problem/question...I recorded a few disc's, I tried to MAX out the recording level, but made sure not to RED LINE it. When I play the one's I made...they play o.k., and they sound o.k. But they do NOT rock the house? the car deck has the D-BASS function, when playing the one's the former owner gave me I usually leave it off, or maybe setting # 1. cause there is plenty of bass at those settings, but when playing the disc's I made...I can turn the D-BASS to #3 and it is if there is no sub-woofer at all, the volume is not the same, and the bass is almost non-existant, I asked the former owner how he got such awesome volume from his recording...and all he said was there must be a setting on my home deck that maybe turned off?? or my new home deck is defective? He said he never had that problem...does anyone know what might be wrong?? ANY help would be greatly appreciated...thank you very much for your time.
