kalo
Hi, I've been reading for a while on these forums, so eventually I just decided to join. Anyway, I want to know which Hi-MD I should get, the 700 or 900. It may seem obvious to get the 900, but I don't see the benifit of splashing out extra money on a 'slightly' better remote, and better looking MD, if the features are the same. So, does any one think it's worth it or should I just settle for the 700?
Tiesto
Hi, I've been reading for a while on these forums, so eventually I just decided to join. Anyway, I want to know which Hi-MD I should get, the 700 or 900. It may seem obvious to get the 900, but I don't see the benifit of splashing out extra money on a 'slightly' better remote, and better looking MD, if the features are the same. So, does any one think it's worth it or should I just settle for the 700? Well, actually I was at the same situation. First I was after the NH600D plus a remote, then I realized that the NHF800 was about the same price than the combo so I didnt know what to pick NH600D or NHF800, then I saw a good price (US$20 extra) for the NH900 at Etronics and again I didnt know NHF800 or NH900 and finally I decided to take the latter. You're probably right, there's no big difference if your fidelity demands arent high (listen music with the supplied headphone once in a while), dont care about the remote, the bulky battery compartment or you need to save some money for something else. But if you have the money for NH900 with no problem, I'd say: why not? It's a better device at every aspect (sound, remote, size, battery life, playing features, etc)... for me it cost more money that I had to spend at the beginning but it was worth it  ps Perhaps where the NH700 beats to the NH900 is the battery type, the NH700 uses the standard AA for internal use however the NH900 uses prismatic type hard to find... ps ps mine still isnt here though

mrgeen4242
I haven't really seen the 700 for sale anywhere, in my area at least. And when I have, it is usually an 'oddity item' and so the price isn't discounted at all, the way the 800 and 900 are. The 700 is basically the 800 w/o the radio, right? Or am I way off on this?
