doclloyd
For those interested... Sony has a Walkman site that has links to software, info on all their walkman devices. I can't even remember how I got there, but I did notice something on right side... it's in a box called "Support and Services"... take a look at what's on the bottom of the list. Yes, that's right, "WAV Converter tool"!!! So, at least there's more hope that those who have spoken to others about this supposed application have been telling the truth. Let's hope that the "fall" means sometime in October Take a look for yourselves at the site below. Hold your mouse over "WAV converter tool" for the "coming soon" tag. http://sonyelectronics.sonystyle.com/walkm...manmc/himd.html Also, I noticed there's a link for a MP3 conversion tool, which can convert a bunch of mp3's to ATRAC at one shot outside of the sonicstage environment. The download isn't working, but it sounds like it would be an interesting tool that should be packaged w/their Walkman line of players. And on a final note, has anybody ever used Moodlogic before? It's powering the new "MoodMix" feature in the Connect Music Store under "Electronic". I'd be really interested to see this somehow available as an add-on for SS. Right now, the site says it only works with mp3's, which I really don't have much of. What it does now is create a playlist which can be imported into SS. Interesting idea, but one that could be greatly expanded upon...
marcnet
Oh well.... Its been a good few weeks. If Sony release their .wav converter software then I can take take a break from my HiMdRenderer
sxc
Regardless, marcnet, because of your hard work, we have an alternative to Sony's software to decode those tracks that Sony's software won't decode.
doclloyd
Yes, definitely don't fret Marcnet. Nobody knows how good this tool will really be until it's released into the wild. And as far as we can tell right now, yours isn't restrictive to the type of file it will decode to wav. I think it does tracks from Connect as well, if someone wanted to do that... kalo
Oh well.... Its been a good few weeks. If Sony release their .wav converter software then I can take take a break from my HiMdRenderer :smile:To be honest marcnet, I think yours will be better because it is smaller and easy to use. Sony will probably over-complicate a potentially good product into another piece of crap software
