Christopher
lol, sorry. It should not affect playability. So you have one? That's one killer device..tell us more about how and why you use it?
korzecke
First of all, thanks for the response. I bought the mds-e10 for DJ'ing. I wanted a nice piece of equipment that would take up the least amount of rack space. I've dj'ed in Michigan for 3 years using my bosses MDJ-330(i think thats the model number) and a Tascam 301(again I think.) Those both took up 2u rack spaces. Minidiscs are definitely the way to go for DJ's who aren't into a lot of scratching and whatnot. I use minidiscs along with a Numark CDN-90. Most DJ's I talk to are against MD's though. They complain about the supposed loss of sound quality. I have never had a complaint. I have a problem though. I just got this unit in the mail today. I cannot use any editing functions unless I use the remote or keyboard. Does anyone know if this is a live sound override function, or if this unit is just broken. Again, all play functions work including the pitch control. That's what I get for using eBay I suppose. I got it for 175.00 USD, so I have to decide whether to return it, or pay to get it fixed, OR just settle with using the remote for editing purposes. Thanks again, Jeremy
jadeclaw
Hmm, according to the manual, you can do full editing on the unit. http://www.minidisc.org/sony_mdse10_manual.pdf Maybe the Edit/No button has collected a bit of dirt inside... korzecke
Maybe I'll call an authorized service center for a quote. It's not just the menu button, It's all except the pitch control, stop, play, and record. I do all editing with a remote anyway, but it irks me to have something not function properly. This is the best forum I have belonged to in a while. All responses here are quick. I'm used to waiting a week or more. Thanks minidisc.org, Jeremy
jadeclaw
Uff. Sounds like a broken PCB... Do you retained the packaging? Was it damaged in any way, so that it points to rough handling by the shipping co.? Maybe that's an avenue to get the money back you invest into repairing the unit. Unless, the seller has packaged it inadequately - Happened to me once, a fully functional laser printer was completely unusable after shipment...
