Hi All!

I guess this is not the first time this question comes up, however this is my first posting to this community.

My son just got back from a tour, he is a violinist and I have tried to get the Atracfiles from his MDR 420 of his concerts to my computer to make a cd-copy of them. The BeatJam program does not want to import them. I can't imagine how to get them to the computer and transform them to WAW-files. Ideas anyone?!

BTW, Does anyone know how to upgrade the BeatJam program to the latest version? Justsystems homepage is only in japanese...

Kindest regards

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

I can tell that you've done no searching at all as this issue has been covered thousands of times in this forum. Please try searching in the future before posting questions and such..

Anyway, this unit cannot upload audio to the computer that it's recorded. This type of functionality is only resident to the new MD format called Hi-MD. The only way you can upload these audio tracks is in realtime in an analog scenario via the headphone out on the unit, a male to male stereo cable and a mic in on the computer.

You hook the analog cable to the headphone out and the other end of the cable to the mic in and press play on the unit and record on the computer. A program such as Audacity [do a search for it on google.com or such] would be good to facilitate such.

Also, you can upload digitally, albeit in realtime, with a MD deck with a digital out and a sound card with digital in.
