OCedHrt
Currently, I have the silver NW-E507. However, I like the azure blue color a lot better and so am wondering how are the prices in Japan? $269 from AudioCubes is a bit steep for me considering that I paid less than half that for mine. 0 Christopher
Which is about $200USD. It's no secret Audiocubes has marked up prices on many of their items for quite a while.
0 OCedHrt
Maybe I will ask my roommate who is currently in Japan to get one for me, and then sell my current one to cover most of the cost. I can flash the Japanese one w/ the English firmware to change the menus to English, right?

0 Rumz
I do think it's a bit silly that not all the colors are available in the U.S. for each flavor (IE azure blue 1GB / E507). I bet they could sell more if they did offer other colors (I'd have an e407 by now for sure!)

Sony USA has been trimming the color availability of US version of portable units since forever. Why? Only their stupid marketing team (if that actually exists) knew. Even after the slew of colorful iPod minis and Zen micros, Sony USA still won't budge, only offering boring colors (silver/white/black) for US units. The only line-up that get some color treatment are the low-end PCDPs, psyc units, and the HD3/5.

However, you could always try calling a few Japanese e-tailers direct and request for international transaction.
