In-line remote MZ-N707

My inline remote control has suddenly stopped working with my MZ-N707. The last thing I can remembering doing with the unit is using its headphone line out to connect to my sony separates hi-fi. Could this have switched the headphone line out into a different mode so that it no longer thinks it is connected to an inline remote ? Or is it more likely that the unit/remote is broken?

Cheers

Trevor

Did you hack your N707 to give it a 'line out' mode - without the hack you wouldn't have it. If you plugged your remote in with 'Line Out' mode still on, the N707 should just revert to 'HeadPhone' mode. In any case I doubt that in itself would cause any damage to the remote.

Try cleaning the contacts with a cotton swab, or perhaps your remote has just died - they're not the sturdiest things, and can be replaced.

Nothing shows up in the display.

The sound button on the remote still works and when I turn the top of the remote to play a track and hold it in that position the track will play however when I release it back to its natural position the track stops playing. Apart from that the remote does not function at all
