trevormcc
My inline remote control has suddenly stopped working with my MZ-N707. The last thing I can remembering doing with the unit is using its headphone line out to connect to my sony separates hi-fi. Could this have switched the headphone line out into a different mode so that it no longer thinks it is connected to an inline remote ? Or is it more likely that the unit/remote is broken? Christopher
Welcome to the forums. Is this the backlit remote, or the standard non-LCD one?
trevormcc
Its a standard RM-MC10L with no back light
KJ_Palmer
Did you hack your N707 to give it a 'line out' mode - without the hack you wouldn't have it. If you plugged your remote in with 'Line Out' mode still on, the N707 should just revert to 'HeadPhone' mode. In any case I doubt that in itself would cause any damage to the remote. Try cleaning the contacts with a cotton swab, or perhaps your remote has just died - they're not the sturdiest things, and can be replaced. trevormcc
Thanks for the reply - my 707 is not hacked The sound still works throught the headphones and th contacts are clean - so I guess its either a problem with the remote or the unit itself. I'll check my remote out with another unit before replacing it
Christopher
Is there anything on the display at all?
trevormcc
Nothing shows up in the display. The sound button on the remote still works and when I turn the top of the remote to play a track and hold it in that position the track will play however when I release it back to its natural position the track stops playing. Apart from that the remote does not function at all
