MZ-NH1 Cant find manual recording volume control

I followed the instructions in the manual for manually adjusting the recording volume:

1. Press PAUSE and slide RECORD

2. MENU

3. REC SETTINGS

4. The manual then says choose REC VOLUME, however the only menu option available to me at this point is REC MODE

How do I access the volume controls? Is there something preventing this option from being available?

Youve probably worked thisout by now but if not;

Cary out 1 2 and 3 then

enter Rec mode

Chose Manual Rec

Then use the Vol to set the rec level.

This has to be re-set every time you stop the MD - so use pause instead.

I dont hane the MdD here soI hope i remember correctly.

Thanks... but those options were not even available to me... after hours wasted, I went to the manual (which I should have looked at more closely) and realized that my menu mode was set to SIMPLE and those volume controls are only available in ADVANCED mode.
