RandomHajile2
Hi-MD recording VS 24/20bit MiniDisc recording??? Hi, was wondering , heard all about the slickness that is the new Hi-MD format, but as it can record in 16bit pcm, which is fine if the scorce is 16bit i guess but if i was recording from 12" wouldnt a recording from say a sony ES 24 or 20bit deck be better??? and if so, wouldnt live recordings be better on a 24bit sharp 722, then on 16 bit pcm Hi-MD? also, what "bit" is atrac3 and atrac3plus please:)
aeriyn
Actually MD is 16 bit... all MD. ATRAC 4.5 and new Hi-MD. The Wide Bit Stream thing on MD decks has to do with the data while it's in the deck... I'm not entirely familiar with how it works.
