mandeepi
I dragged a track accross from my hi-md to the PC rather than using the transfer button. NOt only did the track not copy but it deleted from the MD. I WANT IT BACK any useful advice this is really urgent. if i dont get this back my 5yrs of MD'ing will go and my 200 mds full of recordings will go opensourced and kept on a hdd player. SONY I HATE U FOR NOT LISTENING TO WHAT WE NEED. YOUR FORMAT IS RUBBISH, UR SOFTWARE AND USABILITY IS RUBBISH! only reason i not on hdds already is cos i love having the idea of carrying the media seperate from the player. dex Otaku
First off: this should be in the tech support forum, not the HiMD forum. Barring that - What was the track's source? Was it recorded from an analogue source on the unit, or via optical? In those cases, you can transfer the recording to SonicStage, yes - but if you try to do so more than once, it will delete the track on you. If the track was from any other source, including another computer, in fact even from your computer, and was transferred to HiMD via SonicStage - you guessed it. Not only does SS not allow you to upload these, but it will delete them if you try. On one hand, this is part of Sony's DRM. BTW - these things ARE in your manual. On the other hand, I'm fairly well convinced that a lot of the software engineers Sony hired for SS are outright sadists,
Bananatree
How often do you call Sony up and tell them that you'd like restriction free uploading? Your use of angry capitals is unnessicary and frowned upon. We understand Sony doesn't have it right, but just remember: Audio Formats/innovations/Codecs created by Sony: 5 off the top of my head, Audio Formats/innovations/Codecs created by you: 0 The data should still be on your disc, so it's probally stuck there until someone figures out how to hack the TOCs on HiMD discs. skyther
^ I'm betting not, since Hi-MD now uses a proper filesystem unlike the old ones.
mandeepi
First off: this should be in the tech support forum, not the HiMD forum.well as u can see im new. What was the track's source?the track was recorded from mic in on the md. it will delete the track on you. how rubbish is that! this was the first time i was copying this particular track. but rather than hitting the transfer button i just did a drag and drop. not only did the track not come on the pc, but it also removed it from the md. but it will delete them if you try.completley rubbish, i used to love md but its gradulay got worse as they have tried to make it better these things ARE in your manual.yes like i have nothing else 2 do but to read the sony manual, i thought i was inteligent enough after 5yrs of mds to just pick it up and record, i guess u need to read the manuals now to find out how bad md has become. they should remove all this upload business cos its clearly not right. On the other hand, I'm fairly well convinced that a lot of the software engineers Sony hired for SS are outright sadists, lol i really gonna get a hdd player now, i had enough, every time now something goes wrong with the mds now. like the first dissapointment was my recordings would go quiet when there was instances of alot of bass, ithink i solved that by turning off the loud music preset. but i really had enough now. i hate hdd players just cos they r hdds. shame somone cant adapt a MD to record in ogg or flac. and just drag and drop the file, non of this ss waste in between, just no need.
