I use SonicStage 2.2 from the US Connect website and I'm located in the UK. My CDDB works, but only when I'm logged in as an admin not as my usual "Power User" account (in Windows XP I hasten to add). However in my case I'm willing to bet that it's to do with the "rights" I've set up on my local drives or in the registry which are not default.

Just to be certain, I un-installed everything and re-installed (from Connect Europe). Still no CDDB.

Does anyone have any bright ideas? pleeeeeaaaasse1 It's been almost 4 months since I've been able to record a Minidisc. The end of the tether is in sight, and iPods are being eyed up.

Did you uninstall and reinstall via the directions in the NetMD faq?

Yes, although it's not very clear how far one should go (delete registry entries?) when you have a Vaio, like I do.

WARNING: If you use a Sony VAIO with preinstalled software provided by Sony or use other software developed by Sony, do not follow the procedure below

Try uninstalling everything via the control panel, install Sonicstage 1.5, and then install the Sonicstage 2.# updater on top of that.

I tried this over the weekend. removed everything, installed 1.5 from the original disk I had. (this didn't work with CDDB either!)

updated to 2.3 and still no CDDB. I have run out of things to try. Any more suggestions before I buy the iPod?
