John6
So yeah, I was listening to my MZ-N510 and all of a sudden the right side goes silent. I unplug and replug it in over and over and eventually discover that both sides play correctly when the headphone jack is partially inserted. But once it's snapped in all the way, only the left side plays. I initially thought this was a headphone issue, so I bought a new pair, but unfortunately it's the player itself. I also tried using two different remote controls I had but that didn't help either. I see that a lot of you are hardware savy and open up your MD players yourself; is there anything I can do myself to fix this problem? I really don't have the money to send it off to Sony or whoever to get it repaired.
moormaster
All you can do is look in side if you can find some cold soldered connections at the connector where you put the headphones in. If you find one you can try to resolder it. But before doing this you should rather send it in to sony if you have warranty left. By trying to repair it yourself you could do more damage than you would solve.
