emrish
Hi, I need a minidisc recorder for a Christmas present, and I am NOT technologically savvy. The amount of information out there has me tearing my hair out! I need something that can communicate (?) easily with a PC. It's for my boyfriend's music compositions, which he does on the computer. So sound quality is also important. However, I need all this for a relatively low price. Can anyone help me?
Christopher
What's the maximum budget doll? Welcome to the forums, btw.
me
Is your boyfriend recording songs away from the computer and then moving them to the computer? If you are outside the US, the cheapest HiMD that can do this is the MZ-NH600 (without the D). Do not buy the NH600D as it lacks the microphone and line in. I'm not sure about any others... emrish
My maximum budget is about $150. I don't know if it will be impossible to find something for that price or not. Also, my boyfriend would be recording songs away from the computer and moving them onto it, as well as recording from the computer. Thanks for the welcome. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I had a little problem with my computer.
campekenobi
If you can find the Sony MZNH600D Hi-MD MiniDisc Walkman, it's the low-end of the "hi-MD" series, it would be best offering him the ability to take advantage of the higher capacity discs. Hi-MD holds 1GIG, all other MDs under that model only hold 300 MEGS. Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...ronics&n=507846 It looks like you'd be breaking your budget a bit though... they seem to go for around 160, but certainly between Ebay, and some great internet shopping you could get lucky. You could always buy used. Otherwise, to stay in more realistic finincial terms, he could still record his music & have great sound on the regular MDs... here's a nice one at Best Buy for $130: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id...92&type=product Hope this helps - but HURRY Christmas is coming and you never know when you'll get that "sorry it's on back order" message :rasp:
emrish
Thank you! That was VERY helpful. I think I'm going to go for the Best Buy one. Thank you again!
