It converts WAV and WMA format files to the ATRAC portable music player format and transfers these to the player. MP3 tracks are transferred in their original format and bit rate.*Note:- Music files on the computer are not deleted after transfer. - Music files transferred to a portable music player cannot be transferred back to a computer. *VAIO MusicMove = Japanese Version; VAIO music transfer = English Version<HR noShade SIZE=1>Usable File TypesThe following music file formats are supported: WAV, Mp3 and WMAWAVWAV files (with .wav extension) that satisfy the following conditions are supported: - Linear PCM - 16bit - 32, 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz sampling frequency - Stereo or monauralMp3Raw MP3 files (with .mp3 extension) and RIFF MP3 files (with .wav or .mp3 extension) that satisfy the following conditions are supported: - 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz sampling frequency - Stereo or monaural NoteNote: The following types of MP3 files cannot be transferred: - MP3 files with 32 kbps or lower bit rate - MP3 files with 320 kbps or higher bit rate - MP3 files with variable bit rate encoding *ID3 Tag versions 1.1, 2.2 and 2.3 are supported.WMAWindows Media Player music files (with .wma extension) are supported. Note: WMT compliant music files with copyright protection cannot be transferred.<HR noShade SIZE=1>Transferring Music Files1) Connect your portable music player to your computer via its cradle. To launch VAIO MusicMove/music transfer, click Start --> All Programs --> VAIO MusicMove/music transfer --> VAIO MusicMove/music transfer. VAIO music transfer launches and the main window appears. *For device operation, please refer to its operating manual for details. *Note: To transfer music files, your portable music player must be in its data transfer mode. 2) Using Windows Explorer, open the folder containing your music files. 3) Drag and drop the desired music files to the VAIO music transfer main window. Dragged files are converted to the ATRAC format for playing on the portable music player. When conversion finishes, the files are transferred to the player. The "Transfer completed" window appears when the transfer is finished. 4) To delete transferred music files from the portable music player, click the music title in the "Title" list, and click Delete. To select multiple music files for deletion, hold the Ctrl key while clicking the titles. *Note: The previous transfer list is deleted by starting a new transfer, restarting VAIO MusicMove/music transfer, or disconnecting and then reconnecting the portable music player. Use SonicStage to edit or delete tracks on the portable music player after transfer is complete. 5) Click Close to finish transferring. The "Transfer completed" window closes. <HR noShade SIZE=1>Menu and CommandsClicking at the lower right of the main window displays the menu, where you can select the following commands to control VAIO MusicMove/music transfer.Select files- Select the files that you want to transfer. Select folders- To transfer all of the music files in a folder, select that folder. Show transfer log- Displays the list of music files of the last transfer operation. In order to display the list of music files, the portable music player has to be connected to the computer. Show log automatically- Specifies whether the list of transferred music files is displayed in the "Transfer Finished" window after transferring music files. Preferences- Displays the Settings dialog box. See Setting for details. Always show on top- Specifies whether the VAIO MusicMove/music transfer main window should always appear on top when multiple windows are open (that is, when other programs are running). Show help- Displays this help. Version info - Displays the version of VAIO MusicMove/music transfer. Exit- Closes VAIO MusicMove/music transfer. <HR noShade SIZE=1>SettingClick at the lower right of the main window, and click Preferences in the menu to display the Preferences dialog box.The following setting is available:- Transfer bit rate: MP3 tracks are transferred in their original format and bit rate. For tracks in other formats, sets the target format and bit rate for conversion and transfer to the ATRAC hard disk drive. The conversion target bit rate can be selected by clicking it in the drop-down list.
