cjp
hi... i have a hi-md recorder and as luck would have it the local sony store is out of blank media and i can't seem to find it elsewhere. so here's my question... if i delete tracks on my hi-md media and then record new tracks will quality be lost? like it used to be with blank tapes? i vaguely remember reading a post about this a while ago but i can't find anything now. thanks! Christopher
Welcome to the forums. Absolutely not. You can re-record on a Minidisc up to a million times. I imagine by the 990,000 time that degredation may come into play, but god help you if you're not deceased by then [or the unit is].

Guest NRen2k5
The only adverse side effect of using a disc a lot is that it will get "fragmented." Formatting or "initializing" a disc will solve that problem, but all the data that was on the disc will be lost.
