Okay, here's my problem in "short":

On a cold and foggy automn day I wanted to put some new songs on my MZ-N505. Until that day no problem at all, i just used the OMG Jukebox that was given to me togethter with the N505. But then, while converting the first MP3 OMG froze at about 70%..... i closed the task and teried and retried......

In the end i reinstalled OMG Jukebox and tried again..same prblem, froze at 70%.

Then i found this board, deinstalled OMG Jukebox according to the FAQ and installed Sonic Stage 2.2

I again ried to put one of the new MP3s on the N505 and it...WORKED!!!!! I was so happy that i immediatley listened to it, only to notice that the sound quality was really bad (some funny sqeesh-noises). And i am a 100% sure that the original MP3 file hasnt got that noises in it!

I then tried to put some other songs on (10 at a time).... the first one worked fine, the second one was converted a 100% but the third one stopped converting at 20% and the program froze (100% CPU in taskmager, just like with OMG Jukebox).

SO WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH MY MDplayer OR COMPUTER?????

I'm kinda frutsrated here..... :whatever:

Btw, here are my system infos:

WIndows XP Professional SP2 ( all of he newest updates)

AMD Athlon 2200+

Sonic Stage 2.2

Sony Net MD MZ-N505 R-Type

I hope someone here can help me..... i need my music to get through the day alive.

ditch the sonic stage software. IT SUCKS! Then download Real One Player (it's free). Open it and go to tools/add new device then click on add new device again. it willshow you a list of plug ins. check the first sony plug in and click install or go or whatever. it will load right up. when your all done i would go into your msconfig and uncheck it from startup. this program is a resorce hog if you leave it running when your not using it.

Okay, here's what I did / experienced since I posted the first time:

1) Uninstalled all the Sonic Stage and OpenMG Stuff including regedit

2) Downloaded and installed Real Player Gold 10, added NetMD Devices and got told that it only works if I had OpenMG Jukebox 2.2 installed...great

3) So I reinstalled SS2.3; now Real Player found my device, although it doesn't seem to support the group system as SS does>> crappy wink.gif

Anyway that doesn’t matter because I can't record any music at all with RealPlayer. It just tells me that I might not have enough space in the disc or the music format (mp3) might be wrong....greato. :whatever:

4) Frustrated I once again tried SS and now recording seems works fine, only that the fuckn squeeky sounds are still there....HELP!!!! ... please

Btw, I read somewhere in the forums that codecs might cause problems and as I got some different ones installed I just want to check if that could cause the problem. Here are the codes I've installed:

ffdshow (video codecs like divx, xvid and stuff)

dBpowerAMP music converter with a few codecs for special formats

I'm sure i had ffdshow installed even before I got my NetMD Device so that shouldn't be the problem, but I'm not quite sure about the music converter.
