1 GB... too much???

Since I got my hi-MD just a while ago, I only had one 1GB disc and instantly bought a bunch of cool-color regular MDs.

Interestingly, after being a CD kinda guy and used to ONE album per CD, having 3 or even 4 albums on one MD I can handle and my brain likes it... but when I work on filling a 1GB... it's actually overwhelming!

Unless it's like I pick ONE artist that has like 10 releases or something, but making a mix of different material to fit the disk (using just ATRAC3 at 132kbps) gives me sensory overload.

Yes, I could use ATRAC3+ at 256, but that would make all my regular MDs at 132 sound bad, so I don't want to go there....

Does anyone understand what I'm saying here? Remember, I'm not a Hard-Drive 'mega-mix' type player, I like albums, and I like to have them to HOLD.

This is a problem the purists have been talking about since we found out about HiMD sooo many months ago.

It's really a trade off for quantity. However, I find using group mode (not sure if it exists on HiMD or not) help to group all the albums together on one disc much like a playlist.
