900's remote problems

sometimes when the 900's remote's chord bends a certain way i lose audio output to the right ear. is this normal, or is it defective? i removed the little chord wrappy thing that it came with, and the problem has all but gone away, but still happens. i'm not sure if i needed that wrappy thing to comply with some spectrum standards or something, but the weight made it more likely to lose right audio.

does anyone else have this problem, or should i try and call sony to see if they will replace the remote? i've been searching to find a replacement remote online but they dont seem to be sold seperately as far as i can see.

Sounds like a broken wire, if it's still under warranty perhaps Sony will replace. Replacements are available on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW

Or, there's another one that's a little higher priced, that I'm definitely going to try to get past the Spousal Unit's watchful eye...:

yeah, it should still be under warranty. i'm going to try to get it replaced. i do want that other remote more than life itself... but i dont have the money right now! i need to spend it on other musical related things. if i didnt need that money to buy bamboo, i would get it in a heartbeat.

my only problem is what will i do for the week or so i dont have the remote as sony replaces it? not only will it be a pain, but i braided my headphone chord last year and i dont know that it will reach quite all the way down to my pocket now.

ironically, my headphone chord is braided, but i have no problems with it, but the unbraided remote has problems.

thanks smkranz for the link! i'll bookmark it and buy that when i can afford it, happy.gif.
