The Answer Was There All Along

Well after the previous week of searching for a microphone pre-amp, I actually own one that works quite well all the time.

Being a brass instructor I own a yamaha Silent brass system for Trombone, which consists of a mute for the trombone with a pickup in, and a battery operated mixing unit. This unit also takes a Line-In which I plug my microphone into instead of the pickup, then take the headphone output which can be altered.

This makes a reasonable pre-amp. As a bonus the the silent brass mixing unit has reverb settings so I can take a normal recording and make it sound like it is in a cathedral, quite smart really.

To top this off I have also picked up a stereo mic mixing unit for £35 uk, (around $60) with everything I need including level settings for each. This is a Behringer UB802 EURORACK, I also purchased connector and splitter cable to connect my Sony Microphone, and it works wonderfully.

Now all I need to do is stop my MD player from starting a new track during recording when it feels like it. Any suggestions?
