Sabaism
The player/recorder I have is a MZ-N510, incase knowing that will help people here figure out what is wrong... or what I am doing wrong. Also I am doing this from a stereo to a MD, not a computer.I am obvisously doing something wrong or just not understanding it, here's the problem. My MD is set to record in LP4 Stereo mode and (with a 80 minute disc) get approx. 320 minutes. I am using a 74 minute disc and expect the amount of recording to be smaller, that isn't the problem.Using the player/recorder I can check the remaining time for recording and with a bank disc (74 Minutes) the remaining time reads 299:57. The disc I am trying to record onto has 14 tracks already on it. Nothing long like a Blue Oyster Cult song, just average songs. When I check the remaining time for this disc I get a time of 237:42. The Problem is when I got to add a track (4:57) the recorder stops before the song is done playing. Cutting it off in the middle. I've checked and double checked the connections, read and reread the manual to make sure everything is as it should be. I can't figure it out. Thus is must be a Loose nut behind the MD. Oh, when I put the problem disc into the player, without the MD starting to play, I get a time of 60:55. I assume that is the length of the material already recorded on the MD.Any ideas what's going on? It's either a disc or machine mulfuntion, or more likely I user error. Something I am missing and just not understanding.****EDIT****Forgot about this. Also when recording tracks they sometimes skip backwards a few seconds. Usually a re-recording them fixes the skip. There is one track that skips no matter what. Always this same track and always at the same spot. Now I have checked the source and there is no skip only when I record it.
