rugbycritic
I have a MDX-C6500X head unit in my car that works well. I want to add XM reception (listening to out of town baseball games - GO SAWKS). First I ordered the Terk unilink compatible tuner and antenna set, but was told by Crutchfield (those guys are awesom) and Terk that my particular head unit is not compatible with this tuner due to some hardware changes 2003-4 timeframe. The C6500X is from 2000. The Sony XT-XM1 (discontinued but very popluar) is listed as being compatible with unilink head units from 2000 or so onwards. My question is, has anyone had experience using the XT-XM1? or any other such integrated XM radio solution. I'm not really all that interested right now in using the portable tuner/receivers as that's just another thing to carry around (including the detachable faceplate).I have found precious little on this subject while seaching extensively. Sony's site doesn't have much to say about discontinued products. Any help would be appreciated. I have used minidisc.org extensively for research into minidisc equiment, of which I now have a bunch. rugbycritic
I did finally purchase a Sony XT-XM1 off of eBay. I will follow-up after install and trial period. Since it is just tickling 0ºF today, it might not be for a bit.
