Thulani
Hi. This is my first post. I just got my MZNHF800 via my dad from America. I love it and I haven't had any problems with sonic stage 2.3 which I downloaded even before I got my HiMD (the CD that came with it has yet to see the inside of my cd drive)Anyway my question. I started SS2.3 with about 3.1 gigs free on my drive (I have a lot of stuff okay) so I recorded a couple CDS to the drive in a couple of different bitrates to try see the sound quality. Anyway I figured since I have the cds and not the hard drive space I deleted the albums. started with 2.6 showing in the ss indicator then after deleting stuff I have 2.7. where did the other 300megs go maybe I'm just absent minded but I don't remember installing anything else on the drive and these kind of programs are notorious for leaving behind Junk after you delete stuff. What should I be looking for. File extensions funny random stuff that takes up space. It took me a little time to realise that atracs are actually saved as oma, guess I'm used to Mp3 where the name is the extension. This is a fantastic forum and I've gotten a lot of good info out of it but thought this might be worth a topic cause i can't find anything about it.Thanks in advance. (its a ninja I think - search and destoy, well it was as close as I could get really wanted some kind of secret agent smilie)
vova
Look in SS options for "location to save recorded files". Then go to that folder and delete oma'sYou would be better off using bundled Simple Burner which doesn't leave junk on HD
Thulani
Thanks Vova. That helps. I actually changed that folder and subsequently forgot where to find that option. I thought there might be other left overs. I think I will use Simple burner for downloads but I will still have to use ss for uploads. but that should reduce the possibility of build up of extra unwanted stuff. Thanks. ROMBUSTERS
make sure you grab Simple Burner 2 (do a search in this forum for it)also under the SonicStage options there is an Optimization button (under advanced i think). This cleans up any empty or unused items left from previous SonicStage imports, operations, etc. see if that makes any difference
