bogon07
The Sony E4/5 players are very similar in shape and style to the Fujifilm xD card drive. The dimensions are almost the same. Perhaps this was the inspiration for Sony.

Perhaps this was the inspiration for Sony.←That is an interesting conjecture. However, even though the dimensions of the E400/500 appear to be identical to Fujifilm’s xD card drive, I can assure you that this is not the source of the E400/500 series’ inspiration. An interview piece (available from SonyStyle Japan) with the developers of the E400/500 series proves otherwise. When time permits, I will provide you guys with a translated piece (from Japanese) of the "Sony NW-E400/500 Developer's Story."

0 bogon07
I was really pleased when Sony came out with the E4/5 series because the Fuji card drive was pleasing to look and and felt good to handle. All over it was one of those objects with a sort of charisma but not much you could do with it ..... if it had an MP3 functionality similar to that PanasonicSV-SD100V then I would have had a good reason to carry it around although large xD cards aren't cheap.I'm sure that these Sony flash players will later be viewed as a high point in style and functionality. They just look and feel good.
