hi guys,

well today i was on the bus and i got out my minidisc player and press play to find a lovely message on it stating "NV ERR" and then it shut off. im guessing this is a result of me trying to do the lovely hack that increases the amount of features on my mz-n505. well i went through the service manuals way of re doing the nv. but nothing. so i came here and searched for it and found a nother way to do it that is right here and that also did not work. then after doing both of these i realized that my version of software was different than the service manuals (service manual is 1.100 while mine is 1.200) if anyone knows anyway to fix this problem i would be very appreciative. this error happens any time i press any button on my mz-n505 type-R net md walkman.

please post or email me with anyway to fix this and if at all possible fast because i can barely live with out my music and its finals week and desperately need it! thanx

FIXED IT THE DAY AFTER FINALS ARE OVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

spilt liquid on my md months ago, it didn't work for ages, wouldn't turn on, but now it does, only with the nv err message.

unfortunately i'm stupid and don't understand any of this, so i'm wondering exactly *how* i'm supposed to put those numbers in, if i understand right i mean, and if it will work for mine? (mz-n505 type-r also.) help would really be appreciated!!

hey man. what you do is pretty much for the most part desribe on the regular minidisc.org site. under a webpage named about changing a certain model md to another. you use there steps to get in to service mode and to get to the first set of #'s then you just press over ever time you need to change a #. at values of 0 you have to press the play button to get in to that #'s ones collumn. just get in service mode and start punching in the values and set them to the same as in the list. and that shuold (key word) work OH AND YOU HAVE TO PRESS PAUSE to make the #'s stick
