One NW-HD3, Two computers

When I purchased my NW-HD3, I loaded Sonicstage on my computer at home (SonicStage 2.3). I then loaded my CD library onto that computer. Then I transferred those files onto my HD3. Everything was working fine.

Now, just recently, I purchased a new laptop, loaded SonicStage 3.2 (newest version), and burned a couple of CDs onto the laptop. I thought I would be able to hook up my HD3 to my new laptop and transfer those CD's onto it, but apparantly, it wants to initialize the HD3, which includes wiping off everything that's already on the unit!

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Are you not allowed to have two sources (computers) for your HD3? Or, is it that I have two different versions of Sonicstage (2.3 on one computer, and 3.2 on the other)? Or... something else?
