Remove DRM from pre-SonicStage 3.2 files?

Most of my music was encoded with SS 3.1 and I was wondering if anyone is working on a way to remove the DRM from these files.

It seems possible now that there is such thing as a Non-DRM Atrac file. I don't really know anything about encryption, just thought it might be possible.

I have a back up of these files so they are usable but I hate the SS BackUp tool, it takes forever! I would just like to have all my files DRM-less so I don't have to mess with it or worry about it.

I also know some people who have very old SS BackUps (omg files) and aren't able to transfer to newer devices. SS does convert them to .oma files but they still will not work.

It would be nice if it were possible, if anyone knows of a place people are working on this please point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Sorry, unfortunately you will need to re-encode your music library accordingly with SonicStage 3.2 if you desire 100% non-DRM ATRAC tunes. As far as I know, there's no easy way to remove your existing DRM ATRAC tunes.

I think the easiest way is to right-klick the file, chose convert (choose the actual bitrate) and uncheck the DRM-Option. It's quick, cause the file is not re-encoded but freed from DRM. After that you can delete the DRM-file.

Note: You can also choose a bunch of files at once ..

Is that in Sonicstage? Can I get it to convert LP2 files to un-DRMed LP2 files with this method? That would save me a huge amount of time and effort
