shiz
sorry if this has been brought up before, but I'm a little confused... so, if i put a regular MD (not a 1 GB HiMD) into a mz-nh900 unit for example, and format it to HiMD, will I be able to record in LP2 mode or only in HiSP and HiLP??? And if I can record in LP2, will the amount of time I can put on the MD change? (like in LP2, a 80 minutes MD holds 160 minutes, and here in the FAQ it says something about 4 hrs 50 min, but only by downloading)I'm very confused. Please help me if you understand me. etotheix
Yes, you can record in LP2. Take a look a pages 100-102 of your manual. It explains the different recording modes. You'll also find a table that tells you the all recording times for the different modes and disc types.
etotheix
Decided I should explain rather than just refer you to the manual because all the recording modes for Hi-MD really are very confusing: If your disc is Hi-MD formatted, you cannot directly record in LP2; you can, however, still download LP2 tracks from your computer. dex Otaku
If the player is in netMD mode, andIf the standard MD you put in is blank, andIf you select LP2 mode, then yes, you can record in LP2.You cannot record in modes other than HiSP, HiLP, and PCM when a disc is formatted as HiMD. dex Otaku
in real time←Thank you, yes. If you're downloading music from SonicStage, you can mix MDLP and HiMD bitrates. Recording on the units themselves, you're limited to the bitrates supported by either netMD mode or HiMD mode.
