bargun9
I live in the U.S. and I have been considering the NHF800 and the NH700. My first quick question is whether or not the NHF800 has any features that he NH700 doesn't besides the radio tuner (I don't need the radio tuner). My second question is regarding where I can safely buy either these products. What I mean is that I know, for instance, there is a difference in the video format and products in Europe and the U.S. so I would never buy a DVD or DVD player from Europe. Is there a difference in MD recorders people buy in Europe versus the ones we buy in the U.S.?I occasionally will see some on Ebay that are from Japan or England... would I be shooting myself in the foot if I purchased one of these or are they all the same models no matter where they are sold? Thanks a lot for the help!-Bargun9
Fat Tires
Most recent MD units from Europe are volume capped and not desirable as compared to MD for other markets. I'd certainly suggest getting your MD from the US.The specs of the MZ-NHF800 can be found HERE and the specs of the MZ-NH700 can be found HERE. Quote # Principal differences from MZ-NHF800: * No AM/FM tuner * No LCD on remote * No VPT (Virtual surround sound)
bargun9
Thanks Nismo96...Based on your reply I have one additional question... I read that the MZ-NH700 isn't available in the U.S. - so does that mean my only other option is the NH800 if I want something that is reliable in the U.S.? Thanks!-Bargun9
Fat Tires
The NH700 isn't marketed to the US, so you'd have to import one from Canada if you want it. I'd suggest getting the NHF800 or splurging a little on the NH900 so you cn get additional recording features, better sound (HD digital amp), bettery battery life, and a metal face vs a plastic one.If I was going to buy a new unit today, I'd go for the NH900. I'm waiting until April or May though, so I'll see what's out then.
